Our Trustees

Haringey Sports Development Trust is a charitable company limited by guarantee. The Directors of the company are also the Charity Trustees and, under the Trust's Articles, serve as members of the Management Committee.

The Trustees provide strategic oversight and help ensure that the Trust remains focused on its charitable objectives and the needs of the young people and communities it serves.

Experience & Skills

Because the Trust's Sports Development Programme has a strong focus on young people, the Management Committee seeks to ensure that the needs of the Trust are appropriately reflected in the diversity, knowledge and experience of the Trustee body.

Education and sporting skills are well represented among the Trustees, together with valuable business skills and practical knowledge of the Trust's work.

Appointment & Service

Members of the Management Committee are elected to serve for a period of three years, after which they are required to be re-elected at the next General Meeting in accordance with the Trust's governing arrangements.

Induction & Involvement

Trustees are familiar with the practical work of the charity and are actively involved in its programmes. New Trustees are generally sought from fields including Education, Sport and Leisure and have the opportunity to shadow an existing Trustee and the Chief Executive Officer as part of their introduction to the organisation.

Young People's Voice

The Trust has also identified the importance of ensuring that young people have a voice at management level. Its plans include developing opportunities for Junior Trustees so that the views and experiences of young people can help inform the Trust's future offer and keep its work relevant.
