Vision and Mission
Giving young people opportunities to participate, develop and achieve through sport.
Our Mission
Haringey Sports Development Trust was established to advance the education of young persons at schools in the London Borough of Haringey and surrounding areas by ensuring that due attention is given to physical development and by assisting in the organisation and provision of facilities which enable and encourage participation in physical recreation and sport.
Our Charitable Purpose
- In the interests of social welfare, organise or provide facilities for recreation for people resident in Haringey and surrounding areas, with the object of improving their conditions of life.
- Undertake or sponsor research and share the useful results.
- Coordinate and work with other agencies or bodies having similar aims and encourage appropriate support and educational services.
- Present, promote, organise, provide and manage activities including productions, films, broadcasts, exhibitions, tutorials, seminars, courses and workshops where these further the Trust's objects.
- Produce and publish papers, books, pamphlets and other documents that further the Trust's objects.
Our Vision
Our vision is to build on more than three decades of achievement by giving young people across Haringey and the surrounding areas every opportunity to take part in sport, become more active, develop their skills and fulfil their potential.
- Expand high-quality sports programmes for children and young people across Haringey.
- Strengthen and sustain the London Youth Games Development Programme and pathways into competitive sport.
- Create long-term sustainability across the sports and programmes we deliver.
- Grow volunteering, leadership and coaching opportunities so that young people can gain qualifications, confidence and experience that can support future employment.
- Work with schools, clubs, community organisations and other partners to widen access to Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity.
- Secure funding and develop programmes that support the Trust's charitable aims and allow successful provision to continue and grow.
