STAR:TRACK
Incorporated in Whizz Kids Sport Camps
Star:track is a non-competitive event to encourage children to
get involved in athletics as a sport, while having a great time.
Local children will be able to try their hand at many of the different
athletics disciplines, plus learn new skills through playing athletics
related games, all under the watchful eye of expert coaches.
The event is open to boys and girls aged 5-11 and 12-15 years
old.
These children will receive instruction on:
Sprints
Throws
Hurdles
Jumps
Middle
Distance
AIMS FOR THE STAR:TRACK SCHEME ARE
To enhance the quality of athletics delivery and develop the knowledge
of venue organisers.
Increase
the level of athletics 'follow on' activity- from school to star:track
and from star:track to club.
Extend
the involvement of athletic clubs
Improve
the quality and quantity of coaches and officials.
Raise
awareness of all minority groups involvement.
Use
the star:track as the catalyst to develop year round athletics
activity within the local authority sector.
Thousands of kids are expected to join in the fun. This event
has made the commitment and is designed to nurture our young athletes,
regardless of ability, gender or ethnic background, and support
the stars of tomorrow.
